Hello everyone,
I don't post here much but I am very worried and upset. Monday I took my white boy boxer to the vet because he was throwing up because he ate a plastic ball and the vet took Xrays and found that he had something called spinolois(spelling wrong). He said his spine is fusing togather and will continue to do so. We are going to give him coquesin and some other milk vitamin. I will give you specifics when I get the medication. They said he needs to be stopped from jumping which he doesn't do much and be careful of him standing over us. Which he does all the time. I am stopping it but they also said this is painful and gets worse as he gets older. The vet said he could live till he is 4-6 or a freak accident could happen because he jumps in the air and comes down (which he does with his sister in play all the time) or he could twist the wrong way. I love him so much and I have been praying that he will be all right for many years to come and I have been giving him extra love, but I am so worried. Does anyone know anything about this and if so what advice do you have??? I love him so much and this is making me so worried. He is the sweetest most loving laid back awesome dog in the world. His brothers and sisters(chihuahua, boxer, boston terrier) love him a lot too. His sister Greta our other boxer I don't know what she will do if she loses him. She follows him around and has to be with him or she cries. Any advice would be great. Thanks for helping and I just have to say that I love this site it is the greatest. I enjoy the posts and this site has so much great information.
Thanks Laura

I'm sorry I don't have any insight to offer, just my well wishes that he has a long and healthy life. Have you considered getting a 2nd opinion? Even if you trust your vet...there's nothing wrong with getting some clarity and confirmation. I would just try to keep him as calm as possible, but otherwise...why not let him live life to the fullest why he can? Not to the extent that he may hurt himself...try to keep the jumping and flying through the air to a minimum...but just give him loving and the best life he can have. :)
