Morning all my boxer friends

Paws crossed all day for Wanda's baby. I hope you get some answers today. It is so fustrating waiting and wondering...thinking the worse. Rocky was limping last night the place on his leg is getting larger just breaks my heart every time I think about it. We didn't have a very good night he jumped off the bed a couple of times makes me so nervous about breaking that leg. I feel really rough today. he didn't act like he felt very good this am but I went out and raised the garage door to start my car and he was at the door to greet me or say goodbye...he was all wigles...gee I love him...got to run...making me sad...tears...Rocky & Mom

It is a roller coaster ride and I know I never did like roller coasters. One day at a time gal-the good and the not so good. You know as long as the wiggles are there Rocky's good. ...but like you wrote,we're always waiting for the worse...no matter how hard we try not to. I don't know about you,but alot of times I feel guilty-can't say why or what about exactly but its there in the shadows. Geez, now I'm crying. Here's a big cyber hug to you and Rocky!

I think I am having a sad day..

Maybe I feel guilty for leaving him but I have to work...it's not like they are use to me being home but they are more confined. I came home for lunch and fed them and then Rockt thru up...looks like it was everything he had ate today...I gave him his medicine at 7:00 am so do you think it was in his system or did it get thrown up also....where's Donna, Melanie and Wanda...Wanda was just here. He acts fine and I did give him some cheese and he ate it and wanted more but I am afraid to let him eat very much...help!!! Anyways back to work..prayers for all that need them and even if you don't (just in case)...Rocky & Mom

Right here sweetie. Sending positive vibes to you and Rocky. Don't fret about those few "down" days he has. In the 6 wks after the diagnosis, she only had about 3 bad days..all the others were wonderful days. I'd take the occasional bad day and lots of good ones over a good day and lots of bad..right.

I felt guilty about leaving Blizzy even just for the 10 minutes it took to go get my little one from PreK. She was USE to having me home 24/7 since I work from home. But she was no worse for the wear when I had to go out.

I'd say he's fine with the meds being in his system long enough. You gave it to him at 7am and you posted at almost 2pm..I'd say it was digested and in his blood for quite a while before he vomited. Don't worry to much. If he vomits within say 1/2 or so of taking it, you might ask the vet if you should remedicated that pill. My doc gave me a time frame of when it was taken and if thrown up within X amount of time that I should give again.

Big mushy smushy kisses to Rocky. Understanding exactly how you feel. Oh, give Rocky another kiss an that mug for me..and a big ol' squeeze too!

As long as he didn't throw up within half an hour of his medicine then it stayed in his system. Hope he feels better now that he's had some cheese!

Hey Vicky.... I'm here too! (They are being pretty strict here at work, so I have to sneak in my posts... but I do check in regularly.)

Don't worry about Rocky throwing up. If you gave him the meds at 7:00 and went home for lunch around noon-ish, it is definitely in his system. Don't worry about that!

When you get home this evening, I'd try giving Rocky a small meal, just to see how his tummy is feeling. If he handles that ok, then give him a little bit more (to equal what he normally eats).

We're here for ya Vicky! Here's a great big HUG for you!!! And another one for Rocky! :)

I'm here too Vicky-posting between work tasks. Like the others stated, the meds should have been absorbed. I would give a smaller than normal feed this evening, maybe try something easy on the tummy like boiled chicken & oatmeal if Rocky continues to not wanna keep it down. Wet sloppies from my girls to your boy

Hey Vicky!

I can finally type without feeling like I'm being watched. I know it's easy to panic when things happen, but as long as Rocky is acting like himself, try not to let it bother you. He probably just had a little upset tummy or ate too much or too fast.

I know you feel guilty about having to go to work... I did too! And I also came home everyday at lunch to check on them too. You are doing everything you can, so try not to feel bad about it. Believe me, I know it's hard, but you HAVE to go to work. And you HAVE to take good care of yourself too.

If you ever worry or wonder about something, we're all here. I can't stay online (on Boxerworld) all the time at work, but I check in at least hourly.... there may not be the "green light" next to my name, but I'm there and I'll post as soon as I can. But if you can't get US (me, Donna or Wanda), and you have a question or need some reassurance, don't be afraid to call your vet. (I pestered the crap out of both of my vets!!! ;)) Even if you think it might be a silly question, that's why they are there, and believe me, they don't mind at all.

I hope you'll be on later tonight to let us know how Rocky is feeling! I said a prayer for you! I really wish I could give you a REAL hug... you sound like you need one! So consider yourself HUGGED!!!!

With our hearts,
Melanie & Dexter

Thanks for all the great input

It was sunny and beautiful here today I was telling one of the girls that Rocky wasn't feeling well today and she said go home and let him enjoy some sunshine so I left at 4:30pm and Rocky snooped around outside and had a few barks and he was back checking up on me. He acts hungry so I did the rice and boiled hamburger meat (he loves that and I know the vet recommended it once when someone was not feeling well. He seems ok maybe I am the one that needs to be checked on...lol He has started licking his leg alot I'm sure it feel like alot of pressure there...just wish I could do more...got to run feeling the tears coming...couldn't make it without all of you..Rocky & Mom
