Completely Boxer Crazy
Hi All,
I have the best time listening to and watching Purdy during my son's hour long trumpet practices. Does anyone else out there have this happening in their house? It's SO FUNNY!!!

After about 5 minutes of playing, Purdy can't contain herself any more, and will start to hum in a high pitched, waivering voice. She joins the scales on the second note, and stops when Nick does.
Then, as he gets into the more serious music with dynamics and high notes, she really lets loose, howling away until Nick yells, "Mom, make her stop, I can't hear myself!!!" I've really got to get it on video!!!!!!! :D

Brutus will "sing" too! My husband and I can start him by singing really high pitched non-sense words. Pretty soon he starts in. It hilarious to watch!

The tone of the alarm clock makes Angus sing, it is so funny, but we have to turn our backs from him when he laugh...He gets insulted when we laugh at him and stops :D

OMGosh, that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen - a Boxer trying to purse their floppy lips and howl.
I used to be able to get Katie to do it (waiting for me at the bridge)by howling myself, but I could never keep it up because I always got the giggles. I can't get Mack to do it. Too much work for him.......if there is no food involved.

Oscar will sit for the longest time in my office, parked directly in front of the stereo and intently listen to the music. I've got Christmas music on right now---he's sleeping. Seems he's more into the more hip-hop melodies. We're working on his singing....he's a soprano right now but moving toward baratone as he voice changes. :D

Boxer Booster
Rebelle and Copper are both singers!
Rebelle sings when she wants something we've got..food most likely...sometimes a toy. Her singing sound is kinda part growl and part whine. I'll have to record it sometime haha :D Copper on the other hand, lifts his chin, tilts his head right back, and goes wooooooooooo woooooooooo right along with you if you're singing! hahaha He thinks he's a hound LOL

How about a boxer talent show folks?

Rebelle - 11/04/99

Copper - 7/09/00
Flashy fawn boy, docked tail, natural ears. Momma's baby boy

Our Banshee does this too!! We first noticed it when we bought her a squeaky toy. She makes it squeak with her snout and paws and tips her head back and goes to town. I'm trying to teach her to "sing" on command but am not having much success.

Our Bitsy Boodle only "sings" when my husband makes certain loud, high pitched sounds...so funny!! But lately, I noticed that she often "watches TV".........

 I bet it's a real hoot to see all these boxers trying to sing. Maybe everyone could get together and start a choir!

Great Idea Julie! As a musician, I would be happy to do the arrangements and rehearse the dogs. What a show that would be. We could be as big as that song was during the summer "Who Let the Dogs Out"

I play trumpet too. Although I am retired and don't play it much in the house and Maggie hasn't heard it yet, my first dog, Barney the Beagle, used to do the same thing to me when I practiced my trumpet. He'd sit there and give that mournful Beagle howl right along with me.

Maggie will wooooo woooo when she wants to play. She'll get in that front down, hind end up position and then lift her head, growl at me and the growl sort of grows into a wooo wooo wooo. I ask her if she's "sassing" me and she just woo wooo wooos some more. It is so cute.
