Muscle weakness

My seven year old male boxer has been in great health and last week suddenly started having problems getting up on the bed. We thought he was sore from a long walk but it didn't get better. It has progressed to walking into things, walls, fumbling down the stairs etc. On Friday I noticed for the first time a slight tic, a sudden movement of his head that I'd never seen before. The vet is not sure whats going on as he is other wise perfectly healthy and all blood work came back very normal. They put him on a non steroid anti inflamatory drug to rule out joint pain and although he doesn't act like he's in pain it might be helping a bit.

Just wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or input. Oh ya, he is eating, drinking, peeing and all that with no problems.
