My boxer Mattie is amost 6 years old. She has always been healthy...with a couple of minor things. Ever since she was about 2, she has been doing this weird shaking thing with her head. It doesn't happen very often and it only happens if she is laying down with her proped up on something. The first time I saw this happen to her, I thought she was having some kind of seizure, but only her head shakes back and forth lightly(almost like a bobble head) for about a minute or two and then it goes away. It doesn't seem to bother her when it is happening. I have asked the vet about it and they can never give me an answer without actually seeing it. I have written it off as some kind of muscle spasm. Sometimes her jaw seems to spasm too-but this is separate from the head shaking and it has only happend a couple of times that I know of. In the back of my mind, it always bothers me. I am wondering if anyone else has ever heard of or seen anything like this with their boxer before.

They are called head tremors. My Austin has had them in the past. If you do a search you'll find a lot of good info on them. They aren't harmful to the dog at all. In fact they bother us more than they bother them.
