Good Evening to all,

Well today was one of those beautiful spring days that absolutely required a trip to the park. Murphy being the totally undisciplined boy that he is for the first 10 minutes there, decided to jump on everybody that he met. After remembering his manners we had a nice walk and play until he met Winston. Winston is the full grown version of Murph. Holy cow!!!! I keep thinking Murphy is huge for his age, but seeing Winston, Murphy is this small appetizer for larger dogs. Then I realize that when Murph gets to be the size of Winston and he decides to get the puppy fraps I am in serious trouble. I am kind of hoping that he will calm down with age (fingers and toes crossed) or maybe when he gets his peanuts cut off, although they haven't grown in yet. I am hoping that this behavior is normal for boxer puppies and that I haven't done something screwy in his upbringing. He has been very well socialized but his goal is to have everybody love him and if he doesn't succeed, his ego is crushed.

Jumping was something that we were really stressed with when Asia was a pup. She would always jump on people whenever they were going down to pet her and it was usually pretty intimidating, especially for smaller children.

Everything you mentioned sounds like puppy behavior and although he may calm down after a neuter, it still needs to be corrected. I would recommend obedience school. I took Asia to "Puppy Training" classes at Petsmart, then realized I didn't really have the money for all the other classes we wanted to go through, although I did have the time. So, everyday we work on certain things and she is really well behaved now!

Good luck! :)
