Wow..I am appalled not only at that woman's "murderous" actions, but also the fact that she would openly voice this with no remorse or disregard! You should be commended for your composure by just taking yourself out of the situation b/c there was obviously no use in debating the subject with this woman. God hope she and her "murderous" husband don't own any other pets now and I question their parenting abilities as well. I hope your daughter isn't friends with their daughter b/c there would be no way I could let me kid go over to their house play. I wish you could turn these people into the authorities for animal cruelty or something, but unfortunately that would only make things difficult on your daughter and it wouldn't bring the boxer back.

I don't know if the area you are in is rural or not but around here (in Connecticut) we have very specific animal cruelty laws and shooting a dog is punishable by fines and jail time. Shooting a puppy for that reason would not fly as an excuse. Also, around here, if a firearm were discharged in public (regardless of on your own property or not) is soooooo illegal. Of course with a certain amount of land etc, people (with permits) can hunt on their own land but the nearest house has to be sooooo far away its crazy.

So, I guess where I am going with this is IF this nut case lived in Connecticut she and her hubby would be charged with animal cruelty AND discharging a firearm!!

It would be hard for me to face her again!!!! These dogs I have now are my chiuldren almost since mine are at the age were they are almost leaving!!!

Have just read this, after reading the thread about the bad vet earlier. I can't believe people are so wicked and cruel.

I agree with you - people would have had to pull me off of her if she'd said that near me. I know boxers can bounce, but that doesn't mean you kill them!

Poor puppy.

I"m just sick, with a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach reading this. How can that woman call herself a human being? Those people ought to not ever have pets again, and probably not children, either! Are they going to shoot their children when they get too rambuncious to handle?

I have tears in my eyes and i am just sick over this. How can people be so cruel. This makes me mad. I wish it was me that had heard a story like this because then i would have had the pleasure of knocking that lady out.

I would have been thrown out of dance class because I would have been on that lady like a fly on fly paper. People like that don't deserve to have animals. They are just to stupid.

There's a reason for the phrase "what goes around, comes around". She'll get hers. If it were me, I wouldn't pull my child from dance class but I would make it very obvious that I wanted nothing to do with this lady, and I'd have a nasty speech ready for anyone (including her) who wanted to know why.
