Yesterday, my husband took Mugsy in the pool. It was the cutest sight ever. First off, Mugsy HATES water and anything that deals with getting wet. Anyways, my husband is holding him in the pool and Mugsy, the big baby that he is, his frint paws and head on my husbands shoulder and closes his eyes. It was the cutest this - I wish I had a camera!!! It was like my husband was carrying a little baby around in the pool. After a few minutes, we took Mugsy out of the pool, and then he started crying to go back in. My husband carried him in and Mugsy did the same thing - put his paws and head on my husband's shoulder!! I think he wanted some hugs from his daddy. I can't get over how human-like he is.

How cute! Rocky is too big for me to carry around like that anymore, but I do it with Mia my boston. She trembles so much as I lower us into the water it looks like animal abuse! So I can no longer torture her like that!

How cute! Clara just had her first swimming encounter yesterday and I don't think she was particularly fond of it, although she did swim a lot better than I thought she would.

As I am heading home tomorrow morning, I started to plan this trip to a nearby lake. It would be the first time Orion would be on "swimming lessons". We'll see how he does.
I'll take some pictures for you guys to enjoy

Please be careful around water. Our boxer was knocked off the dock by another dog and sank like a rock. Luckily I was right next to him when he fell in. I just stood there watching him, waiting for him to come up. The lake is very clear, you can see the bottom really good. He was in about 4 feet of water and walking out deeper. Yes he was walking, not even trying to swim back up to the top. That was my que to jump in after him. I've been told because of thier deep chest, not all boxers can swim. I can laugh about this now but I thank God I was there next to my Reno when he was knocked in. Please make sure your pups can swim before you turn your back.

This post has inspired me to try to get Farley in the pool again. We put him in there a while back so he would know how to climb out using the steps, but he hated it and was mad all day. Recently though, he's shown an interest in water, namely puddles, which he used to avoid like the plague. I've read on BW that some pups didn't like water until they were older, so maybe he's just getting wise to it.
