Sleeping next to the bed
We actually just starting letting Duke sleep next to our bed last night. He is a little over 4 months old. He has done great in his crate and never has accidents and rarely cries. We just laid his favorite pillow next to our bed and he curled right up on it. He slept until about 3:00 and then I heard him get up so I took him to the bathroom and then put him in his crate. He's on a schedule to get up around 6:00 and did so again this morning.
I think the first night went pretty well! I believe if you never let your dog up on your furniture, then it is much easier to teach them to sleep next to the bed and not jump up on it. Duke has never tried to jump up on any of our furniture because we have never let him on it. It may also help to limit the water they drink after a certain hour so they won't have to potty in the middle of the night. I hope it is this easy going forward!
