My dog, Sadie, will be a year this Friday (Happy Birthday). She has her favorite toy - a stuffed bear that sings "Rock-a-Bye-Baby." She is completely obsessed with it. She won't go anywhere without it, nor sleep without it. She actually carries it around and then licks it clean and gets mad when you take it away. Is this her motherly instinct coming out? Does anyone elses dog pretend their toys are their babies?

Boxer Insane
I had a male Boxer a while back that would do the exact thing same. He would destroy most toys, but every once in a while he'd get one that he would treat so gently. He would barely even mouth it when he played with it, and it went everywhere he did. Eventually, it too would become destroyed so he would just wait for the next one to come around
