I don't know if you have heard about this new flea and tick prevention but it is called Advantix and it is supposed to repel and kill mosquitoes as well. We had the same problem with Layla and the vet recommended this and it has really seemed to work. Hope this helps!!

I give Mac a garlic tab wrapped in cheese everyday. This helps with ticks as well as with mosqitos. It is natural and has never had any bad side effects. Though, I do not know how much to give to a puppy! Maybe someone here in BW may have know the answer to that one.

Let us know how it goes!

Garlic

I read in a post about foods not to give that garlic is one of the poisonous foods...now I don't know if garlic tabs are free from the offending component of garlic or if they concentrate it even further, but I would do more research before I gave any more of it. -Mariah.

Really, that is one that I have never heard of. I know about the chocolate and the onions, but I have never heard or read about the garlic.

Do you have any links that would go to bad foods for dogs? Thought I would check there first. Thanks for the input, I do appreciate that and so does Mac! ~Lisa~

I also feed Garlic too Tango as a defence against those nasty critters.....but sometimes he does get bit then i give him some Benadryl it helps relief the skin itches and i usually have it on hand anyway just incase of other bug bites.

That is great!! :) *major sigh of relief* I will continue to use it as a pest repellent because it really does work well! I don't have to use any chemicals on Mac or Brandi to control pests and I owe that all to the garlic! It really is good stuff!! ;)

I use garlic a little, and when going in the woods, I put some natural citronella on them too.

If you are talking about what to do about the itching, try aloes gel, it fabulous for the itching and to help it go away faster!
