Hey Everybody, just a quick question,

It has been raining like crazy in Denver these past couple of months which has brought out a ton of mosquitos (not a typical problem in Denver). So I've noticed my fawn boxer Bella with a lot of mosquito bites on her back. Can I use Off or Repel on her or is there a special mosquito repellant made for dogs?

Thanks for any help!!!

Don`t use anything with deet on your pets. Other options are available at some pet stores or at `natural`or èco`stores.

Ding - Dong, Avon lady here. I have a spray bottle of Skin So Soft bath oil (original scent). On sale it's about $3.99. I spray it on a paper towel and rub them down. Of course they high-tail it when they even hear the spray bottle, but it's easier than trying to spray it directly on them. It really seems to work.

Off has those new fan things that I have heard of people clipping them to collars and they've worked.

Personally I use what's made for dogs from I use something called Natura or something like that only available at PetCo. It's all natural contains citronella and a few other things. Works GREAT, it's a spray but they also have a shampoo. I've also heard of people using fly repeller made for dogs for mosquitos.

If you are having a lot of mosquitos I'd encourage you to use a heartworm preventative (if you don't already) and if your dogs are allergic to the bites you can give Benadryl for them.

You also may be able to help avoid them by keeping your dogs in at dusk and dawn when they are most active.

Good luck!

I use a spray product from earthbath.. it's not for repelling mosquitos but it's made of tea tree oil and that repels them. The mosquitos have been really bad around here as well this year.

I use Miracle Coat No Fly Zone for dogs. Works great, we use it on ourselves as well! Smells good too!
