I have searched and can find nothing on this. Bo loves his Innova, but he gets an upset tummy. I want to keep him on a good food, but I am curious if mixing Innova and Nutro Natural Choice chicken meal, rice and oatmeal formula would be okay. My thought was that the rice and oatmeal might be enough to firm his stool up. All of my other dogs ate Pedigree, so this premium food stuff is quite new to me.

I dont know to be honest. If his tummy is upset tho something in it isnt agreeing with him thats for sure. I just went thru that with Wellness fish and sweet potato. Ive been told before it might be too rich for him. The lady at the pet food store today said to try Solid Gold foods. There are so many out there its hard to know what to use! Im sure someone will come along with some ideas for you soon..good luck!

You could also keep feeding the Innova and try adding a tablespoon full of pure pumkin to his food which helps firm up the stools, if he continues to have a loose stool, it is probably the Innova and it could be too rich for him. This way you know if it is the food or not, then if it is you know to switch foods all together. Mixing the foods will also give him loose stools as it is a change in diet.....so I would always stick to just one food at a time until you find one that is just right for him. There are MANY great foods out there like Innova. Try Wellness, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, Canidae etc...

Good luck

I appreciate the responses. I'm going to the grocery store today, so I will see if I can find some pure pumpkin. Thanks again, and hopefully I can get the problem resolved. (My husband has a weak stomach, and he's the first one up in the mornings.) :)

Update...we just got back from the vet (3rd set of puppy shots). They did a fecal exam, and he has something the vet called a grain worm (or something like that). She said he got it from some bad food. So, it's antibiotics and a new bag of food for Bo. He was such a good boy when he got all 4 of his shots (one was an antibiotic). I'm excited at the same time...no more taping!!! Only took 3 weeks for his ears to stand (but he had helicopter ears). :) :) I know I'll have to keep my eye on them just in case they decide to start flopping.
