Mixing food for changing the brand

We will be bringing home a 7wk old pup soon. The breeder now has him on Puppy Chow, I want to switch him to CS, how much do I add/mix so he has a smooth transition?

I would keep him on Puppy Chow for the 1st few days or so, let him adjust to his new home 1st. Then slowly start weening him to the new food over about 7-10 days. 2-3 days of 1/4 new and 3/4 old, 2-3 days of 1/2 and 1/2, 2-3 days of 3/4 new and 1/4 old, then all new! Good question and thanks for the advice (from a future puppy owner). We are on a waiting list for a puppy in April and I have been lurking on the boards for a while and finally registered now that it's only a month till the puppy is born (something about not wanting to get too excited, though I talk about the puppy nonstop to my family!). The puppies will be fed Nutro by the breeder (though I'm not sure if it's Ultra or what) and I'd like to use the information I've learned on the boards here to be able to appropriately respond to the puppy's nutritional needs!!! In case we need to change, the information you provide on weaning is very helpful! Thanks...
