Bless her... Our Missy just won't walk on the lead. She just digs her heels in and refuses to budge. We've tried harnesses, treats, encouragement and even just plain old dragging her till she gives up!
She is a stubborn thing. This is our first Boxer.... is this normal? HEEEELP!

Maybe try driving her somewhere so that you won't be taking her away from home. Don't give up. :)

Apollo was horrible at first, as Louise501 asked how old is Missy?
To start getting her use to the lead put her collar or harness on whicever you want to walk her with. Then place the lead on her and simply leave it, make sure to spray some Bitter Apple or some other deterrent to keep her from chewing it. Repeat placing her leash on for 3 or 4 times a day for 15 or 20 mins do this for a week or two. The sometime around the two week mark pick up the leash and see if she'll continue to walk on her own. You can also put her lead on and place the handle on a door knob (keep an eye on her) do this so she knows that the lead is there and that pulling gets her no where.

Hope all goes well, I'm sure it will, it just takes time.

Progress!

Further to my last post & in response to Stephan & Louise501, Missy is 18 weeks on Thursday.
I took Missy to the park this week and she walked!!!! Still won't follow my lead & wants to go her own way (typical Boxer?) But it's a start...... AND she beat up an German Shepard pup, twice her age & size (playfully I hope). Thats my girl!!!!!
She still won't walk out the house & I have to carry her to the car - she hates it!
She is now attending "Puppy Playgroup" to she if it will boost her confidence!
