Update
tomorrow is a week since Mindy was taken, and no sightings, nothing. I am driving the shelter staff nuts I think, going out there 2-3x a day to roam the kennels.
Slowly we are going through the motions of getting on with our lives, but it is obvious that there is a big hole in our lives. George was the doggie ringleader, the instigator and the one the girls all piled on at naptime. Now they are lost. Emma and Mindy were closely bonded, and Lillie watched over them as if they were hers. Now Lillie has become very protective of Emma, and Emma whines and yipes if she cannot find Lillie. It is hard watching them. My son still cries when he finds George's hidden treasures in the yard or sandbox, and for me - every one of his toys (he had MANY, believe me) brings back some memory and after the smile comes the tears of knowing I will never have that moment with him again.
