Missie has crossed the bridge.

She crossed the bridge at 5:40 pm, and I can imagine already that she is running with all her boxer friends over there and chasing the cats that cross her path. She is now pain-free, and acting just like a puppy again.

It was very hard today, I worked at home this afternoon and spent my afternoon with her. She laid on the couch and put her head in my lap. I left Tugger's in his crate, so that I could spend a few hours with Missie and give her the last bit of my love.

When the anethestci went in, she was laying in my arms. I held her until her heart beated it's last beat. She looked so at peace, not wheezing anymore in her sleep, or twitching in her sleep. The pain from her hips is disappeared.

I will not forget her, and right now I can't even think about replacing her. I have Mr. Tugger's and Dixie to comfort me. Of course right now Tuggy is helping me with the shredding in the office, by shredding papers in his mouth.

I don't want to do that again anytime soon.

katie, I am so sorry that missy has gone to the bridge. but you are right she is not in pain. it really hurts when you have to help your baby to the bridge. but now she can play with all of our babies there waiting for us. run missy run and be free.

Who have given us much love, laughter and their loyal companionship back in return. Helping Missie go to the bridge rather then let her suffering until the end, was truly your unselfish gift to her. She is suffering no more and is now chasing, running and playing with all the wonderful Boxers at the Bridge. Who all came to greet their new playmate and friend. Wshing you strength in the midst of your sorrow and comfort in the midst of your pain, May all the many woderful loving memories that you shared with Missie heal your heart and begin to help you to smile again.

I sit here with tears in my eyes, already missing a dog I never knew but understanding the sadness you are feeling. Thank God she had you for the time you had together!! For being there with her all the way to the last breath, She knows she was well loved by everyone (even people who didnt know her!!) But be at peace too you know she is running and playing an Im sure has a big smile an a huge hug just thanking you for everything!!
Dont forget the other fur babies, they lost a family member too, they will need love an support all the more. Oh how I wish I was there to hug you all!!!

Katie,I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet Missie. Know in your heart that you did everything you could for her and you gave her the ultimate gift of love by helping her to the bridge. It is never easy to say goodbye to our babies,but I'll bet she is running and playing at the bridge with all her new friends.

So Sorry

I'm sitting here crying because we have all been there and while each experience is unique, they all hurt. It sounds like Missy couldn't have had a better family, she could leave completely loved and still protected in your arms. I've lost a few "babies" over the years, and my mom passed away in 2001. My sister and I always laugh that mom is in heaven having to feed all my dogs! Just keep your chin up, we are all thinking of you.
