I wasn't sure whick forum to post this at, I hope this is the right one.

After researching and speaking with a vet my husband and I decided against cropping of our Miss Molly's ears. We were considering it because he ears don't lay down like they should. Even the breeder told me she has never seen a dog with ears like it. Molly's ears lay across the top of her head (as the breeder described it she looks like she is trying to have a comb over with her ears).

I consulted with a vet who raises boxers herself and she told me to take medical tape and tape the ears down to the position we want them. Has any one else heard of this?? She said if the tape doesn't seem to work to bring her in and we would try skin adhesive glue. Obviously, Molly is no enjoying have her head all taped up.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions to make this a little easier I am completely open to them.

Thanks
Misty

Is she young? Roxie's ears would do that comb over thing too when she was smaller. I guess she grew out of it because that never happens now.

Molly is almost 4 months old now. When I spoke with the vet she said that Molly has strong cartlidge. That even if we had her ears cropped they would probably fall across the top of her head. That is why she recommended taping them down to train them to stay that way.:D

I have not cropped Zeke's ears. In obedience class there was a boxer whose ears did the same thing. The family would tape them and after awhile they showed a lot of improvement.
