i everyone,
Is there anyone out there that has yeast infections external on feet ears and belly?
My poor Jewels is 7yrs old and been to so many vets and been poked and prodded and biopsied to death. I found a web site last night sponsorded by the AKC recommended the holistic diet and meicines. I just want to feel good about trying this and see if anyone has had luck. We are talking the tune of 5600.00 and I'm about out of cash with these prices climbing on everything.
Today I'm trying boiled chicken and brussel sprouts for dinner for here. I will try for 7 days. I bathe her in vinegar baths and rinse in baking soda.
Any suggestions???
Help anything is appreciated.

Which holistic diet?

If you're talking about raw food, then yes, a great many people feed their pets a natural raw diet. And yes, it is usually very helpful for allergies. Though it needs to be approached from the point of starting with a single meat protein, and one that the dog has never eaten before. So if she's had a food that contains chicken in the past (very likely) then that is not a suitable starting point.

shampoo

Ketochlor is a great shampoo used everyother day for the first week and prn after that. You need a shampoo that has anti-fungal that has Ketoconazole and Chlorhexidine as a base ingredients... the vinegar and baking soda may just irritate worse...Also have a 7yr old with same issues and I can relate to the vet charges on the increase...so hit me up sometime and we'll compare notes.... take care of you and the baby gurl

Did your vet perscribe any medication to kill the yeast infections, until you can figure out the cause????

If the belly and feet areas ( not the ears) are localized try a product called Domeboro ( powder packet to mix with water) every other day. It is an astringent that is available online or at the drug store and 2% Miconazole antifungal ointment ( either by the feminine products or the athlete's foot products) on the off days. That is what our vet recommended and it took care of the problem for Cassius' feet.

For the ears our vet gave us a drying solution and an antifungal ointment suitable for the inner ear area that took care of the irritation in the ears.

You also need to keep the areas dry to prevent re-growth of the infections.

I have recently put jordan on probiotic 2x's a day and she's doing much better I could see results in 2 weeks! It replenishes the gut flora that antibiotics kill and that's why the yeast keeps coming back. Probiotic is not an antibiotic so it won't hurt the liver and kidneys as antibiotics do and it has made a big difference in Jordan she has energy and is growing back hair in places she'd scratched to pieces! Email me at Email Removed by Moderator and i'll give you more info if needed.. hope your baby is feeling better.
