This could be a really silly question, but my friend was thinking about getting a puggle. I had never seen one of these dogs before so I was looking up pictures on the internet. On one of the sites they were selling "mini boxers". I have never heard of these. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them. Are they "real boxers?' They looked like normal boxers but they were very young puppies so its hard to tell. Thanks all!

There is no such thing as mini boxers. Boxer's are a medium sized breed, only! So these so called "mini-boxers" are illegitimate (sp.?) and the breeder's practices should be questioned.

Please ask your friend to reconsider purchasing a puggle (pug/beagle cross). No reputable breeder would ever concieve of such a thing, and these backyard breeders and puppy mills are making a fortune off of designer mutts. These include the puggles, the labradoodles (lab/poodle), and schnoodles (schnauzer/poodle), just to name a few. So sad, and a rescue workers nightmare. :(

just to clarify, my friend is not planning on purchasing the pup from a puppy mill or breeder. Her aunt has a pug and it got lose and joined its beagle friend about a mile down the road. Now it is going to have pups and she was thinking of taking one. I was just looking on the internet to see what one would look like. By no means would I ever stand by and let a friend buy a puppy from a puppy mill or anything like that.

My daughter has a friend that just bought on of these puppy and she paid 600.00. I could not believe it. She said that the parents both have papers, but that doesn't matter one bit. At least she loves her puppy, but i can't believe that people are our there making money on these puppy's that are not papered.

Just yesterday I saw an ad for labradoodle pups. The ad said 'CKC', and
the price was $1000.00 per pup!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it? There were
10 puppies, and it just burns me up to think that these morons might make
$10,000 on just one litter.

THe puggles I saw pictures off where being sold for $700 and it didnt say anything about either of the parents being registered (not that it totally matters). They had a page with about 50 testimonials from people with their new puggles. Sad that so many people have bought their pet from someone with no solid knowlege on where their puppy is coming from...

Here in Westchester County where I live these mixes are "all the rage." Cockapoo and Labradoodle, blah blah blah.

I almost smacked my friend through the phone the other day because she wants to mate her boxer/bullmastiff mix.....she laughed and told me to get off my soapbox. Some people just don't want to hear it. :(

Not a good idea....

We found one of these black boxer minis in the paper one day and took a ride to go see them. She looked like a lab puppy. My husband was so upset by the way they were raising this puppy that he brought her home. I don't think this puppy was ready to leave the mother and have no idea what they did to her. Later when we took her to the vet there were many health problems and she became very, very aggressive. The vet suspected pit bull but who is to say. She ended up biting my 4 year old who was just standing next to me and my husband couldn't even go near her. The SPCA recommend that she be put down. This was extremely hard for my family. You really should stay away from these people who are out for nothing but money. My best advice would be to do lots and lots of research and if in doubt when you meet the pup or if something seems off don't take the pup. Walk away. Don't support these people you will only make it worse.

Absolute Disgust!

Guys I just did some research on some of these mixed breed backyard breeder kinda people and it absolutly disgusted me! Check this site out DO NOT POST LINKS TO BYB! These people look like there just out to get rich off of these poor dogs! These dogs have to have health problems IMO. Not that I am against mixed breed dogs i have a rescue myself that is Pug Corgi mix and I absolutly love him to death and so do my boxers. But people BREEDING these dogs! I just dont know what to say!
