I'm so sorry to hear about Mia having more tumors. I also have a Boston who has had MCT's in the past. When I read your most recent post about the tumor on the eyelid, I remembered reading a story with a really positive outcome about a Bernese Mountain Dog with an eyelid tumor. In fact, that surgery was actually done by the oncologist that I have used to treat my own dogs for MCT's. Anyway, you can read more about it on www.jersey.net.

I feel your pain!
I'm very sorry to hear about Mia - I will definitely keep her in my prayers. I just found out this week that the tumor my Rocky had removed was cancer as well. The doctor gave me several options and she was very hopeful. I did a search on google about mast cell tumors and there is tons of info out there. I would suggest finding out the best and worst about it. I know that it's not something that you can ever be ready for - but at least you will have knowledge about it.
As for the co-workers, don't worry about the tears you shed in front of them. Unless your a boxer owner - no one knows the compassion and love that one can have for these dogs. They are the best dogs in the world.

I can't sleep. No big suprise that I am nervous about he impending surgery. I just can't imagine how her poor eyelid is going to look. :(

Mia did not have her surgery today. Unbeknownst to me she had a slight fever today and when the vet tested her blood her white cells were high. She apparently has a bladder infection. :( My vet did not want to stress her.
The next available date was in April :eek: Many thanks to my vet who worked her schedule and Mia is not reset for 3/15.
I know it is evil of me, but I was so relieved to not have this done today. I know waiting is not the best thing, but it gives us more time to shrink the area on her eyelid and maybe (hopefully w/ fingers & toes crossed) avoid the whole eyelid surgery. We are getting ready to turn in for bed now and starting tomorrow I am working like heck to help Miss Mia.
