Mexiletine Anybody???

My 17 month old baby boy has to start Mexiletine tomorrow and I was just wondering if anybody else out there has a fur baby on the same meds????

I have just got Arleys holter results back and they are not very good and of course I am SO terrified that I hope I am doing the right thing with the meds.

I am so scared that I wake up in the middle of the night to see if he is still breathing:eek: I just hope the meds work, I have to do another holter in about 3 weeks to see if the meds have helped control his heart.

Is there anything I need to watch for when he starts these meds??

Your advice would be appreciated.

Meds-Mexiletine

Hi, I just read your question about Mexil. I hope Buddy is doing ok. My first boxer was diagnosed with boxer cardiomyopathy when she was 7 and lived another 3 and 1/2 years. She was on several meds that really controlled her cardiomyopathy. She still had some episodes with her heart that required emergency care. Some of her meds were Mexiletine, Furosemide, Enalapril, Ateno and Procainamide. It was very costly per month but it was well worth it. She was our first child before the human children came along. Please keep us updated. We will be thinking of Buddy. The Liles Family
