Merrick and gas

We recently switched Rufus from IAMS to Merrick thanks to everything I have learned on BW. He really seems to love the food but ever since he switched he has had the worst gas. I mean he had a little gas before but now we all turn green and run out of the room.Also he has gas constantly now. We have tried giving him yogurt and it seemed to help for a few days but tonight its back and in the worst way. Should we try giving him a different food? I don't know what to do.

Maybe try a little boiled hamburger or chicken & rice for a few days. It could be a coincidence that the gas increase happened at the same time as the addition of the Merrick. I'd give the Merrick another try after that, it's a wonderful food My two got really horrible gas when we tried the Artemis food from the WDJ. No amount of yogurt or any gas meds helped :( The smell was so bad my Dad thought a skunk had crawled under my house & died !!! He actually went under there looking with a flashlight !!! LOL

It's possible that the Merrick food doesn't agree with him. I would give it a little more time before giving up on it.

How is Rufus doing ? I feed my two yogurt on a daily basis to help with gas, it doesn't stop the farting but it drastically cuts down on the stink

Rufus has actually gotten a lot better over the past few days. He is still farting but like you said its not as stinky. Hopefully it will stay like this.
