Boxer Buddy
I haven't posted here in awhile (June '07)...I kept looking for the right boxer for me and nothing seemed to work out...the ones I found on Petfinder were already adopted or too far away, could not find breeders with older pups, busy summer, etc...
Then, out of the blue I get an IM message from my husband at work - his coworker's wife's doctor's nurse's friend (how is THAT for a trail?) had an 11 month old purebred boxer that they needed to rehome due to a pending divorce. The coworker was a boxer owner already, and had done some research and said it sounded good. Everything he told me was just perfect - color, age, breeding, crate training, socialization, ok with cats, etc... I called immediately and went over to see him that night. As soon as I saw him I KNEW we would be pals. I didn't want to leave! Over the weekend I did my due diligence as far as researching his breeding and finding out that his parents were show dogs and had gone through the proper tests, and that all of his shots were up to date. The following Monday I called back and Tuesday they brought him over and it has been a joy every day since. It's been so long since I had a dog in the house I had forgotten how absolutely rewarding it can be. And I'm learning all sorts of boxer quirks - snoring, bouncing, talking...always something.
Now...let me see if I can figure out how to post a pic link:
