Some people simply have no taste and no class.
We had one of our beautiful Flashy Fawn females at a pet fair once and this couple comes up. We were sharing the fair with an all-breed rescue, so Carmen was the only boxer there that day. Carmen's foster mom was singing her praises to the family and just happy to have someone to brag on Carmen about. About two minutes into it, the lady says "well, I'm sure she's a nice dog, but she's sooooo ugly"!! I was taken aback, but you should have seen the smile melt from her foster mom's face.
She recovered nicely, but I could tell she wanted to rip that woman's eyes out.
And guess where Carmen ended up? You guessed it, as a permanent resident at her one-time foster home. :D They love her, ugly, smooshy face and all.
BTW, you can see Carmen in my gallery, she's the one with the roses on her picture. She was the first PB boxer LBR had in it's program.
