I took Konah over to visit grandma and grandpa on Saturday (my bf was at his parents house so i took him to visit and for dinner) and they had people over. Well when I took Konah out to chase butterflies (he loves it!) this women and her husband pulle dup. They came out and i introduced myself and my bf was there too so we were talking about Konah and life, then she says, "I'm sorry but your dog is NOT cute!" I was speechless! Then she said, "He looks like an old man in a too small body...all the wrinkles on his face" I almost said, "Well your wrinkles don't make you look any better!" I couldn't believe it! Because they're business friends of my bf's parents i held my tongue and said" well, sometimes they're so ugly they're cute. I think he's very cute and so do other people." She tried to be nice after that (she could tell i was ticked) by saying, "oh he's so well behaved for a puppy" I just smiled and took Konah to chase more butterflies in the field.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Who does she think she is? Stupid, ugly, meany face!

Mean People Suck

That is the rudest thing I have ever heard....all of my friends think our dog, Maggie is the cutest thing they have ever seen....between the under bite, the big sad eyes and the butt wiggle they just love her and they all have their own purebread dogs (min pin, great dane, german shepards)..I was never a boxer person (also loved Rotties and Mastiffs) but my husband and son wanted a boxer...now I couldn't imagine having any other dog...Maggie is only 10 months old but she is the cutest dog I have ever seen...some people are just so ignorant!

Dont worry too much about it, people tend to say things without thinking it will hurt. ALL of my family has said that my katie girl is so ugly she is cute, they then laugh and think it is funny. but little do they know the truly special feelings that katie and I share. I couldnt care less how she looked it is the love that counts. And personally, i think that boxers can look majestic, soulfull, and goofy all at the same time. name another breed that can do that!

Look at it this way, if they think that boxers are ugly looking dogs they wont want one, which is probably a good thing!

That definitly hurts my feelings when people say your dog is ugly. They wouldn't like it if we said their child is ugly!

Although I have had some friends that have seen our girls for the first time tell me that they are "kinda funny looking" they didn't say it in the purpose of being rude just more observing. In the end after getting to know my girls they ALWAYS change their opinion /rolleyes. Now they are the CUTEST THING EVER! haha

I just don't understand why people have to be so rude! I mean, does she have such little self control that she just can't NOT say something mean.

By the way, I think that lady was in Calgary on Canada day... I already posted this somewhere, but we took Willis to the park and a man came up who loved boxers and was talking to us about how great he was (of course we agreed ) Then a little while later we saw him again with a woman... and he said to her "isn't he precious" and she kind of hesitated and said "I'm sorry but your dog is ugly." and kind of laughed, but not in a haha I was kidding way. She went on to say how she just couldn't love a face like that and on and on. I was dumbfounded.... I mean I wouldn't walk up and insult anything about her, why should she insult something that we clearly cherish? I mean, I know some people don't like the look of boxers, but why do you have to mention it????

I honestly think that more people need to look in the mirror.....we can't all go to Hollywood!

I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not all dog breeds are pleasing to everyone. But for someone to just give their opinion of your dog and for it to be a bad one is just rude.

I have seen many an ugly human baby and not once have I ever told the parents that I didn't think their kid would win any beauty contests!

Obviously these people have no taste. Or manners.

My whole extended family thinks Magoo is ugly, "a face only his mother could love" exact words. It really doesn't bother me, it's not as if he understands and they all love him and spoil him, they just think he's ugly. So I just shrug it off and tell them not everybody appreciates boxer beauty. He gets tons of compliments from strangers on his beautiful color and mushy face.
I think he's the cutest dog ever. Coming from a stranger it can be annoying, but there are dozens of dogs I wouldn't want to own based on apperance. However I wouldn't go around telling thier owners I thought the dog was ugly either.

I can't seem to keep my lips off "THAT FACE". Poor Bugzy gets tired of me always kissing on him because I think he's just the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Different strokes for different folks right?

It probably was her, we're from Edmonton. I don't think she has people skills, she proceeded to tell my bf that their garden had "bad flowers" in it that she wanted to rip up right there because they take over. My bf and his dad built one of the best gardens i've ever seen, it has a little mountain with a pumped waterfall and pond (complete with fish) etc. When his mom complimented her garden at dinner she said, "I know. It is great isn't it? probably the best in Alberta." She was complaining about squirrels eating her new couch (on the veranda) and it was all i could do not to smile in glee. Divine justice.

Yeah, i know i shouldn't take it personally, it just really bothered me, she'd never met me before let alone my adorable puppy. Oh well. As an aside, i encountered the first poop demon today on my lunch break. Poor Konah. I looked out our window to see what was taking my bf so long and Konah wouldn't get up from the garden. When he did, he tore around the back yard scooting his butt. Which is when i noticed the dingle berry. Too funny, bless my bf for taking care of it. Oh but the look on Konah's face *L* poor guy.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words! I'll post pics of him soon!!

I know how you feel. The first week I got Odin a neighbor came over to ask "what is that?'. That got my back up! Then he proceeded to tell me that my precious furbaby was S@#t brindle brown, how rude. So, I picked up my new puppy, turn my back to my neighbor and marched into the house. Some people!!!
