A year ago we lost our granddog boxer sugar, we were keeping for our daughter in Calif. she was hit by a truck on purpose vearing off the road in our yard....... 6 weeks ago we bought another little girl, precious was 6 weeks old and had brought a ton of love back into our family, my wife was told she has cancer for the 3rd time a week and a half ago. so when we took precious to have her ears cropped, reffered to from an ol school dr. she didnt come out of the anasetic its been 36 hours and she still is very lartigic with non focosing and dialiated eyes , unable to hardly stand on her own. she has peeed and pooped and eaten a cup of food... fluids are still going in iv. the vet said the longer it is for her to recover the amount of recovery is more limited..... humainly how long should we allow this pup to suffer and put her asleep? my wife at this time needs a healthy dog to help her through this mess she is in and has pushed us again to the edge for losing another dog.... can this situation be reversed and how long is waiting long enough?

OMG I am SO sorry! I know there are no words of comfort right now that will help but I am really sorry this has happened. I don't know anything about anesthesia personally to give you any information on that or what to expect. I am sending you and your family prayers that she will revocer and your wife will too. I'm so very sorry you are having to deal with this.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. 36 hrs doesn;t seem long enough to say that permanant damage has been done. I would get another opinion fron a different vet before doing anything rash. Did your vet use ACE during the surgery? It is very bad for boxers. Sending lots of thoughts and prayer s for quick recoveries for both your wife and your puppy.

I am sorry to hear about your little girl. I agree that 36 hours is just not long enough and a second opinion might be best. By the way...how old is your baby?

Thursdays visits

We both went and visited precious at the vets yesterday, in the morning we saw her wagging her tail but still unable to control her head and feet real good, i tried when the wife was holding her with out saying anything to get her to follow me with her eyes..... it seemed like she did a little. yesterday evening we took her out side at the vets and was able to support her under the belly and in front of her back legs... she could walk assisted this way, but let her go and she fell to the ground seemed to have a little more head control, maybee it will just take time, we may bring the puppy home for the weekend....... and then back to the vets for our monday appt in Houston at MD Anderson.....
Thanks for all the encouragement and the prayers, will keep everyone informed..... precious is 12 weeks old......
