I just became a member a few days ago and have been reading all that I can. My wife and I have a 15 week old fawn boxer named Max. He is a great dog and lots of fun most of the time. We have had big dogs and small, but never a boxer. We did as much research as time would alow. He was 11 weeks when we got him from the animal shealter. We just couldn't leave him there. Max and his sister got out somehow and a man brought them in. He has been doing well exept he likes to bite at your hands when being petted. My wife and I are not sure how to correct this behavier because we have never had this happen with other dogs. I thought that it would stop, but I fear it will get worst with time. I have tried the noise and standing up and walking away methods and they don't seem to be working. the other problem is when we go to take him for a walk he goes insane when we try to put the collar on him. The other things I think we can handle, like the digging and stick eatting and yes the farts. He seems to be a beautiful dog we just need a little help. Thank you sorry so long

Consistancy is the key. You must do the "Ouch!" noise, and turn your back on him and ignore him, EVERY time he bites. Patience is needed, as some puppies take longer for the penny to drop, but eventually he will realize that biting = stop of play/petting/attention

Again with the collar. He knows he is going for a walk, and he is so excited! Try getting him to "sit" before the collar goes on. Every time he jumps about, put the collar down and walk way. He must eventually realize that no sit = no collar = no walk

Honestly, he will get there eventually. It can be very frustrating for you and him, but consistancy, and patience will win through in the end

Good luck :)
