Boxer Pal
I am the proud owner of Bodhi, a male 8 year old boxer that I have had since 6 weeks of age. Last week after getting his annual exam and shots I noticed a small dark lump on his hind leg. I immediately went back to the vet a few days later and had them aspirate the site to test for cancer. The pathology came back positive for mastocytoma cell's. I cannot tell you how devistated I was to find this out! My wife which is 6 months pregnant with our first child is beside herself as well! I suppose this is just another one of those quirks that life takes you on, but is not an easy situation to handle! I feel as if our time with our dog will have to come to an end, without me having as much as a word to say about it. We have an appointment on Thursday, the 21st to have it removed; but we still feel very uneasy about the whole thing! Through this I would like to ask if anyone out there has any experience or suggestions to please let me know, otherwise please include our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank You,

Tyler

Sorry to hear about the mast cell.

Do a search, and look back in previous postings on mast cell, cancer, etc.

When the growth is removed a biopsy will *grade* it......
Grade 1, 2, 3, 4. (1 being the best possible......4 being the worst)

Keep us posted.
