As I have posted before, I'm trying to work my husband into getting me a fawn baby for Christmas this year. I have two male dogs, American Bulldog-6 years old, and my boxer 1 1/2 years old. I have never had a female dog and would like too, but does anyone think that with 2 males we should have another male? Both my males are neutered and adore eachother most of the time. My husband doesn't want another dog because although he loves dogs, he thinks the two we have will be so jealous! Also, it does make it harder to place 3 dogs when you want to go on vacation or something! I think he'll change his mind-we don't go places often and the amount of joy we'd both get from a lifelong, full of character boxer will over ride the negatives of a 3rd dog. We have a home with a fenced back yard and a park near by! What do you think?

I really can't say which would be better. From what I've seen here that either way would be better than having two females. But, good luck and I hope its a very merry "boxer" Christmas!!

I am by far not an expert...but as working in rescue for a while now, I can honestly say....get a female, the pack order with males might turn ugly, regardless of your 2 current males getting alone fine at this time...its the same with females but a little more on the agressive side...one of each oppisite sex works best...

Good Luck

Thanks for your opinions! I think after reading them I have decided a female would be best! Besides, as much as I truly love them all, I have a husband, and 3 sons (1 human and 2 dogs) I'm surrrounded by males! I need another female around the house! I'll start adding female, fawn, baby into my husbands ear and I'll let you know if my wish comes true! (my husband has already told me of a name for a girl...then he acts like I need to put something else on my list... We'll see!
