We have a 3 year old boxer named Murry, he is a great dog, with one exception, he does not play well with other dogs. My brother-in-law has 2 male dogs and it is important to us that he gets along with them. We tried to introduce them a few times and it was not good. Even after his two dogs walked away, Murry was still being aggressive.
This evening while on a walk, a male dalmation approached (owner had him off his leash) and they both wanted to fight.
We do not know how he is around female dogs.
We adopted him a few months back and he is a great family/companion dog he's great with us and our 4 year old daughter. He's very human friendly, but he's just not good around other dogs. We were told by the previous owner that he was GREAT around other dogs and were starting to think that he lied.
Is it too late to socolize him around other dogs, how do we do this sucesfully, it's very important that he's friendly toward other dogs - we go for walks and bike rides, camping etc... where there's always other dogs around.
Any suggestions?
TIA.
