Boxer Pal
Our 12 year old white boxer has developed a serious skin issue that has developed on her back and on her side. The fur falls off and there are lessions which are bumbpy. The skin is red and pink and in some areas it is raised. The vet started her on antibiotics which she was on for a few weeks and in only got worse. They then put her on a more powerful antibiotic thinking it may be a bacterial infection and it is still worse. We had the vet take several skin samples and won't know the results for a week. Any have any ideas what this could be? Thanks

Sorry, I don't know what it could be? But, I was just thinking, our friends male boxer had that a few wks back and within a few days it went away on its own. But it's a good thing you're getting it tested. Hope she's better soon.

Maybe a yeast infection??? Don't forget to give some yogurt while taking the antibiotics, to replace the good bacteria.

That is one symptom of Cushing's Disease. I knew nothing about this until my 9 yr old male developed it. A good resource is caninecushings.net , there are other symptoms but if you look at some of the photos of the other dogs with cushing's you will see what you are describing. It is controllable with medication. Good luck and keep us posted.
