Does anyone know what this could be? Could this be an allergy? It started like a ridge on the top of her nose from one side over to the other. I have a picture but not sure how to post it here. Any help would be appreciated!

Hurley developed a really dry nose. Also there was like an xtra growth of nose on the end. Vet said not uncommon for boxers to have an extra growth. Won't hurt anything. Might try petrulium jelly (just a dab). Wish I had a picture of it--hard 2 describe.

Thor gets this. I have a product called Snout Soother that helps. I got mine at a local holitistic pet store, but you can get it from Amazon as well. It runs around $20 for a small 2 oz tin. However a little bit goes along way, and the results I got were well worth it.

Bailey has this too. You can use coconut oil - they sell it at the grocery store. Put some on her nose every day for a week. Bailey didn't mind trying to lick it off so it wasn't a bad experience for her. It slowly and naturally softens up the ridge and the dry cracked pieces are replaced by new smooth ones.

Only problem is after a month or two her nose would dry out again.

Good luck.

Riley was known for having a dry cracked nose. I put cocoa butter on it and it always cleared up very quickly. I put it on him right before bed time so he'd tend to ignore it all night long.

Fuego has this as well. We use Musher's on them. You can buy it and use it on their feet but it is non-toxic and he isn't as likely to lick it off as he is any lotion we have ever tried.

Brutus' nose is very dry and cracked too. My vet says that's very common in boxers. No big surprise there, haha. everything seems to be common in boxers! Love my guy!!! I put either vaseline or Vit E oil on his nose and face. Usually at nite so he won't fuss about it and it usually works pretty good.

I'm glad you said coconut oil. I think that would be way better than vaseline. I remember an episode this past year that Dr. Oz had on about dry lips and he said petrolum based products are not good for lips as it doesn't repair the problem, it only masks it. I would think that would be the same for dog nose.

The Snout Soother Pam mentioned looks like a nice product for the nose. Going to keep that in mind for this winter.
