Macie is so good except for the fact that anytime someone comes to our house, she jumps all over them, we cannot get her to stop, and it isn't even jumping, she just wants to stand and lean on them. I don't mind her doing it to me or my hubby, but some people don't like dogs as much and I don't know how to get her to quit. Someone told me that once she gets older she will calm down and quit the jumping, any ideas?

I'm a first time boxer owner and I've heard that jumping is just in them. My Jade is 22 months old and will still jump on certain people (the ones she knows that don't care). If you want Macie to quit jumping on other people you'll have to stop her from jumping on you, she thinks it's ok to jump on all people if it's ok to do with her mommy and daddy. Sometimes when people come over that don't care for dogs you might just have to put her in a different room. What has helped to get Jade to stop jumping is when she does it I just turn my body so she has to get down and won't pay any attention to her until she's sitting or calm. My kids of course like it when she jumps up on them so we taught her that she's only allowed up on us if we tell her to give us a hug (my son taught her that) but if seems to have helped. Good luck they are little jumping machines.
