update on Zoe's lymphoma, no more pain

I had posted a little info on Zoe's lymphoma, but I wanted to share that I let Zoe go to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday morning. The past week, she was showing signs that the cancer was beginning to progress quickly. It was getting increasingly difficult for her to breathe, especially at night. It took so much for her to get up to go outside to do her business and she walked so slowly, a few steps at a time.

My husband called the vet on Wednesday 7-18, and the vet said that with the breathing issues he described, that it was time.

My heart hurts so bad. But I know I did the right thing. She is no longer suffering and she is running free now.

Thank you to those who offered support and advice throughout our battle.

I am very sorry to hear about Zoe. I've read your posts along the way and can only imagine how hard it must be. I too will be facing the same with Bailey at sometime in the near future.

Best to you in this time of morning.

So sorry to hear about Zoe. It's such a painful and awful decision to make, but it sounds like you did what was best for her and that's all that matters. She is no longer in pain and she was very much loved.

Take as much time as u need 2 grieve. Some people will say "come on it's just a dog.". They don't understand how a boxer gets into your whole life. It's traumatic and there's no one that understands any better than someone who's lost one of these wonderful dogs. Weep as u need, it will make u feel better. There will come a day when u look back at your goofball and it will bring a big smile 2 your face that u had this time with your baby. my heart is with u!

As I am still trying to get over Rocky, in a way I know your pain. I am so sorry you had to make this decision. I know they are in a better place now and not hurting and are happy and playing like they used to.

Wish I could do more than just say I'm sorry. I wish you all the best in this time...

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby. You gave her the greatest gift of love possible by helping her over bridge. It's the last act of kindness we can give them when there is nothing else ahead but more suffering. Run free Zoe, God speed sweet girl.

I"m so sorry for you

I'm soooo sorry to hear about Zoe. We lost our Joe last Friday afternoon (July 20). He was 8-1/2 and had dilated cardiomyopathy. He had a great day - no indication that he was about to go - he was walking through the house and his heart just stopped. My heart is also about to burst - we miss him soooo much. We have had ok days and bad days since - we're just trying to think about the good times we had with him and i hope you can do the same. We have to keep our eyes pointed straight ahead.
