Lump in neck

Thinking it could be a goider vet tells me its cancer and a Throid test is only good in about 95% of these tests taken. Right now he is in styroids. He is not lazy he is fully of energy and always wants to eat. Last vet visit he lost 2 lbs in a year.

My boy has a lump in his neck. Checked by the vet ,she only felt his neck and said he has cancer. Is there not a test for this to see if it is cancer or just a throid problem

Your vet put him on steroids without any further testing? I would definitely go to another vet for a second opinion. Maybe the lump was felt in a different location than where the thyroid usually is and that's why she doesn't think it is goiter, hard to tell. And yes, there are reliable tests for thyroid function. Please go to a different vet and keep us posted. Good luck.

I have 2 dogs on thyroid meds and blood tests were done. And with boxers feeling a bump is never goo enough. I biopsy or needle aspiration should be done. I would be looking for a new vet. I hope whatever it is, that it is treatable
