Boxer Pal
Our puppy Rocco is 8 1/2 months old. He has had excessive thirst and urination for months now. At first it was hard to recognize because he was so small, we weren't sure that his accidents in the house were just "accidents". We had a hard time housebreaking him and now he still has accidents in the house. He knows he is doing wrong, he will look at you and put his ears back. He just can't control it. He also leaks urine when he is sleeping. He is obsessed with drinking to the point he will drink until he throws up. We have been doing test after test on him. He is now on prednisone and he started an antibiotic today. The prednisone was prescribed a few weeks ago because his cortisol levels were low. The vet treated it like it was Addison's, hoping the prednisone would stop the increased thirst. So far it has not helped. Also, his PH came back high. I"m not sure how to help this as we give him distilled water. He is also anemic and on a B complex liquid vitamin. Today we got back his new blood results and his liver enzymes were raised. The vet put him on an antibiotic. His BUN levels are normal and he said the kidney tests came back normal. The vet has him on Hills Prescription Diet K/D. He is eating fine. I do think he sleeps too much for his age although the vet says it is normal for a puppy. I'm not sure if anyone has any experience with any of this, but any advise would gladly be taken. I just want our poor baby to fill better. :-(
