Stacey Davis Update:
WOW, I do not know where to begin. This whole ordeal has been a very
emotional issue for meand overyone else here, Just ask Nathan, he is the one
dealing with me. We are in Gulfport and have been since the storm. We
took the dogs to my Mom's and headed back home after a day or so. This
place is awful. We were out of fuel for 9 days, which meant folks could
not run generators. We lived off water and Pringles!! And the heat, OH
MY GOD!!! it is HOT!!! It is hard to recognize where you are by landmarks.
All our casinos have been destroyed. Our entire beach and coast line are
GONE. Most of our friends homes are demolished. There are alot more
dead than the media is stating at this time. I feel like I am living in a
isolated area with no contact with the rest of the world. Words cannot
describe what I see down here. It will be years before we get over this
tragedy. Our home is still standing. Our horse barn is not. We have
roof damage and water damage inside the house. The dog's yards are
completely destroyed and we have lost most of our trees which are down in
the dogs yards. They cannot go back there for all the debri. I brought
with me to Gulfport, my old girl and Baxter and left the rest at Mom's and
one at the vets and 2 at Mother in Laws. The 2 with me are being kept
inside and let out in a small yard near our carport and they are not happy
with me.
But, when I was able to get back on my email here at my work (we are not
open, I just came down here to see if I could get online and I can) I cannot
believe how much everyone has been thinking of me and the boxers. YOU GUYS
HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL and have brought me a ray of sunshine. I was very
emotional when I started reading all my emails from folks all over the US.
I know in time I will heal, but right now, it sure seems impossible. I
also heard there is another Stacey Davis in Gulfport and I will have to look
her up one day. That brought some laughter here and I needed it. Please
accept my sincere thankfulness to all of you who have sent donations to us.
We are surely going to need them!!!!! Keep the good thoughts coming that
we can gain some normality in our lives again. I am heading back to my
house and I won't be able to get back online until I come back to work next
week. I look forward to keeping in touch with you all!!!! We are taking
pictures and I hope to make a website one day to show them off.
THANK YOU,
Stacey Davis
