Dear Teressa. I'm so sorry for your pain. The loss of a beloved pet is the same as the loss of a family member. I, too, am in tears and wish, sometimes that I'd never found this board. There is so much sadness here when one of us looses our furbaby but then I think of all the wonderful friends I've made here. I remember the funny things each of us has related about our furbabies and it makes my day. Thank you for sharing your loss with us and I hope that, in some small way, our words will help you. Teressa, I'm sitting here with tears running down my cheeks my dogs are sensining something is wrong and are up at me .My heart goes out to you but think of the happy years you have.Dogs lives are too short and everyone who has one has to suffer the same grief.My friend's dog has also just been put to sleep ,he was 17yrs and she can't remember not being with him, its so sad.

It's 5:30 a.m. and I'm crying. What a way to start my day. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I am glad he went painlessly and in his sleep. Know that we are all thinking of you in this time of grief.

Thank you everyone for your prayers, thought and support. Even today is hard. You all are so wonderful. Only a true Boxer dog owner knows how we feel. How soon is too soon to get another. I am not trying to replace Buster, no dog ever will. I just need to replace the void in my heart. Please give all of your sweet Boxers an extra hug and kiss from me and my family. Teressa & Family

On a happier note......I think that if you are feeling like you would like another pup right away, then go for it! I instinctively knew that Lady was going to die quickly when she became ill. I brought Tess home on a Saturday and Lady went over the bridge two days later on Monday. We still grieved for her very much and we didn't try to kid ourselves about Tess replacing her. Different pup, different love. In my situation, it did help though since it took up time I would have spent mourning and it also helped to have the pit-pat of Boxer feet still in the house.

For some people, they want to get another boxer pretty quick, and others, wait awhile.
Don't rush into things. Think it over.
Remember, you can never replace Buster.
If you are interested in adopting from rescue (we have many wonderful boxers in right now), please contact me. If you are looking for a pup to purchase from a reputable/responsible breeder, again, contact me. I know of 3-4 litters at this point. (One litter is due any day now)
If you feel like talking, give me a call. Your always welcome to come over and play with my gang.
