This may sound funny, but I would like to adopt a young, white boxer with one dark spot around the eye. I have always loved the way they look. Right now I have a one year old male flashy fawn and he would probably enjoy a playmate.

White available

While I am skeptical about your looking for a white, do a search on Petinder in Indiana, there are a couple of beautifuls available.

Why would you be skeptical? I just happen to think they are very neat looking. I am new to boxers...is there something I need to know about white ones?

There's nothing wrong with wanting a white boxer as long as you don't plan on breeding. Boxers are only supposed to be fawn or brindle so it isn't an exceptable color. Also, a large majority of white boxers are deaf just like dalmations and other breeds that lack pigment in their ears. There are always white boxers looking for homes.

I was the same as you. I wanted a white boxer (pet purposes only). We ended up getting a white girl with a brindle patch over one eye. She's grown up so fast! She's already 9 months old! I swear this dog was made for me! :)

Check out PetFinder online. They have a beautiful male named Artie in Indiana right now in a shelter. He's even passed temperament testing with flying colors. There are also white pups on there every so often.

If you don't rescue, make sure you go to a reputable breeder.

Good luck with your search!

I'm not sure where you get your information but those statements are not correct. White boxers are not to be bred or shown according to standards but the white color for a boxer is acceptable otherwise. Also while some white boxers are indeed deaf it is far from a majority.

When I said that white isn't an exceptable color I was refering to breed showing and breeding standards. I did mention that a white was fine to get if you weren't planning to breed. Also the color scheme that this person wants to get will have white ears and that is the most common color for deafness.

I just want one for a family pet. I appreciate the concern though and all the information. My boxer is neutered...I would never try to breed dogs, we'll leave that to the breeders! I understand now why everyone is concerned...no worries though!! Like I said, I love the look of the white boxer, they are adorable.

White boxer with patch over eye

I live in Minnesota & I have a 1 1/2 yr old female boxer that is white with a brown patch over her eye. I'm looking for a new home for her. She is such a love. I don't think she has yet relized that she is a dog & not a little kid. The reason I need a new home for her is she needs a lot of love, she is a very affectionate little girl & I have two small children that also need my full attention. I just don't have the time for her that she needs. I love her so much & will only let her go to a home that I approve of. If you are interested in her, please contact me at removed by mod, please read rules regarding personal emails: www.boxerworld.com/rules

Thanks,
Kim

Thanks Andie for that clarification. And thrust me plenty of boxers regardless of color should "not " be breded!
