I love the name Raine....it's perfect for her. :) I hope that she brings happiness back to you and your husband.

She's not a replacement for Cami and won't be the same....but Raine will be the perfect doggie in her own way. :) I think Cami orchastrating the whole thing from the rainbow bridge.

Susi, she is such a beauty! Definitely Cami-worthy!
Do enjoy your precious baby girl!

The best thing for my heart and soul was to adopt Rhys after losing Isis 5 months prior. As mush as I miss Isis, is as much as I love Rhys. If that makes any sense, I don't know, I just feel it is right.

Oh she is beautiful!! Congratulations!!

My parents sweet Lab passed about 18 months ago. She was such a huge part of their lives. They ended up getting a puppy about 4 months later. Were very hesitant as it felt almost like they were trying to replace Lucy, but their friend's dog had pups and he was insistent they take one. I really think it was one of the best things they ever did. Nothing could ever replace their Lucy, but getting a new girl took away some of the pain.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I'm always seeing your posts about your Cami and I can tell how much you miss her. Hope this baby brings you much happiness!

Tomorrow is the big day. Try to get a good night's rest before bringing your pretty Raine to her new home.

Congratulations to all of you. And can't wait to see more pictures.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes.
I have been moving pretty slowly at getting my house ready for the new pup. Almost moving at a snails pace. I've got the crate all dusted off and ready to go. DH needs to get up in the attic and get the crate divider since I gave away the crate Cami used as a pup and the one I have left is Great Dane sized!
I went through all of Cami's toys and put aside the smaller ones and others that she never showed too much attention to for the new pup. That was rough. At first I had no intention of allowing the toys to ever be played with again but it just didn't make sense. There are 100's and I have a small fortune invested in them. Cami loved nothing more than playing with her toys. They deserve to be played with. At least some of them. A good portion of them have too many memories attached for now and they will stay stored away until I feel more comfortable. A lot were stuffed toys anyhow and I have no plans for the pup to play with anything stuffed just yet. Needs to learn the ropes first! Can't have her associating a toy with a pair of shoes! LOL
I need to puppy proof again. Had gotten so use to Cami never bothering anything that wasn't hers. Back to using laundry baskets to hold items out of reach for little exploring puppy eyes. Cords have always remained hidden so not much worries there. All trash cans are dog proof too so that doesn't have to be a concern.
I'm thinking that when Cami was a pup that she was very interested in throw rugs. We have a lot of them due to being on a concrete slab. Feet get cold! Will see how much attention the pup shows to them before I remove.
Heading to the pet store today to get food, treats, new bowls and puppy's first toy. She needs a collar and leash but has to come with me next week sometime to the store so I can get the perfect fit (and color).
I know I am forgetting half the things I need to remember. I will just wing it I suppose. I did something right with Cam as a pup since she turned into an absolutely wonderful adult. We should be OK if the new pup is 1/2 the dog she was.
We were extremely lucky with her and I don't assume everything will be the same so I fully expect a few horror stories to share. Hope not but won't be shocked if something happens!
I can't believe this is actually happening. We are experiencing a ton of emotions. I hope I can hold it together.

Congratulations on your little Raine. If you haven't already, be sure to add lots of paper towels to your list of necessities. There might be a little "raine" on your floors here and there that will need to be wiped up. ;) That is the one thing I forgot when I got Balboa.

Take in a deep breath of that sweet puppy breath for me. Nothing sweeter. lovicon

Again, Congrats.
