I'm trying to get some ideas for longer lasting treats/chew toys for Tucker. He has lots of toys but I want to find him something that he's going to chew for longer periods of time. He has a nylabone and has no interest in it at all.

Is there anything else out there that might work better? I wont give him rawhide but is he too young for pig ears?? He's 3 months old.

I was told that you can freeze peanut butter and kibble inside a kong toy an a dog will stay busy for hours trying to get it all out. I personally have never tried it, Achilles has enough fun just chasing/chewing the kong toy on its own.

From my understanding rawhind and pigs ears are both equally bad for dogs, something to do with digesting them. You might want to look into that.

I have a deer antler for Jersey. It won't splinter, it doesn't get all soft and gross like rawhides, and it lasts a long time. Of course you should always supervise them with chews. He loves his antler and for $12 on eBay I'd say it was a good buy.

I've just discovered Bully Sticks and Ruca LOVES them! I'm not sure what all they are made of (maybe I don't want to know) but I don't think it's rawhide and I've heard they are all natural. They are kind of pricey, but a friend told me you can buy them in bulk affordably at COSTCO.

I gave Ruca her first Bully Stick 3 days ago and it's still holding up. As soon as we get home from the park she goes on a hunt to find her stick. Once she finds it she curls up on her bed and chews away. I'm so happy her favorite chew isn't my arm anymore!!!

Bully Sticks.
A must for puppies!
Edible and digestible, just make sure they don't swallow a 12 inch-quarter in diameter bully stick at once. Raine did that.

Bully sticks are made of Bull penis. (No joke).
They are all natural and digestible but I still stopped giving them to my dogs. For one they are expensive and while they might last a while for a puppy for Happy and Sky they only last 30 minutes. And then I have to constantly watch them to make sure they don't swallow the end piece.
They get raw meaty bones and marrow bones. Those last them for a while.

Ummmmm gross! I might have to pass on those...I googled them after the above post and read that they smell disgusting too. Didn't say anything about being made from bull penis tho

Lovely. As I mentioned, I probably don't want to know what they are made of...HA. I bought mine at the humane society after our puppy class. I'm not sure what brand they are, but the ones I got don't smell. Don't get me wrong, if I put one up to my nose I smell it, but I don't smell it on Ruca or around the house. The bully sticks are working for Ruca for now, so I'll probably keep that up before graduating to bones.
