Oh, how I hate this part...today Titus is seeing his favorite lady vet to be neutered! I dropped him off early on my way in to the office today. He was happy and silly - he's never been to a vet's office before (ours does house calls) so he was having a great time - until I had to pop him into a cage and leave him! My poor sweet baby was so sad when he realized Mommy was leaving! He will probably have his surgery in about an hour from now - and then I will go pick him up as soon as I possibly can - they said around 3:30.

So if you happen to have a second, make a wish that my boy will be fine - he has one retained testicle so it's a bit more major surgery for him. I will be pretending to work, trying not to cry, and staring at my cell phone expecting them to call and tell me it's over!

Can't wait to go get my little guy!

He'll be fine. :) I know it's easier said than done, but relax - he'll be home in no time and you'll be wondering how to slow him down long enough to heal.

If it makes you feel any better, I was traveling for work when Bax was neutered, and I called the vet every half hour to check on him (really good thing that the receptionist and I have been friends for a long time or she would have killed me :p ). When I walked in, and he saw me, I got the best happy dance of my life and made all the worry just disappear.

He'll be fine - take a deep breath and relax. Lots of good energy going to Titus and you, too.

I experienced the same thing with Riley. I was worried sick about him all day, but I only called once or twice to see how he was doing. I remember the ride going to pick him up seemed to take forever. Once I walked into the clinic and they brought him out for me though, all was forgotten. He was beaning (as well as he could being groggy) and anxious to get over to me. I was so happy to get him into my arms again!!

CC - I'm sending soothing vibes your way and healthy, healing get well vibes Titus's way. I think he'll be just fine!! ;)

He's all done!

Vet just called - he's finished and awake!!! He was sitting up but still quite groggy. I have to go get him in about 2 hours.

Poor little bug's going to have a lot of pain and bruising, she said - she had to make a second incision and go through muscle to get at the retained one...I have to take some pain meds home for him. But she said he was a very good boy and is doing well - they did a manicure on him, and tattooed him, and took pictures! My vet said he was crying up a storm when she got there, but she went to talk to him and he knew it was her - he calmed down once he saw a familiar face.

So I guess he'll be very spoiled now - I just can't wait to go hug him!

Thanks all for your support - the slice of cherry cheesecake I had with lunch certainly helped too!

I've had so many fosters in for this, it should have been old hat for me - but this is my BABY! I was a wreck when Xena was spayed too.
