I soooooo wish to watch the journey of Mac! Please post many many pictures of the conehead turning into a boxer. We can not ever have a puppy, our work hours are too long. We had the pleasure of watching Moosey for a weekend during her conehead stage but Sammie was at least 2 or 3 when we had adopted her, it was always unknown. Regardless, with both of them gone I am boxerless and lonely. I recently saw one at a local shelter I had to pass up and it killed me. Just not a good fit. Someday...... someday someone will try to fill Sammie's paws......big paws to step into

What's ment to be will be , as you said the one in the local shelter was not a good fit but the right one will come along if you keep looking !! please keep in mind though that puppy's are a lot of work it's like having a new baby in the house , the whole house and back yard & shed has to be puppy proofed to remove anything that might be of danger to it because believe me when I say they LOVE to chew !!!!
