I was wondering why my Boxer, which is 11 months old, doesn't get along very well with smaller children. She has a tendency to bark and snap at them. Now when she was a puppy we had a patio that was fenced in, and there were little kids in the neighborhood. There were times when we would leave her outside and maybe they teased her or something but I don't know for sure.
Though another reason could be that we have a bassat hound, shar pei mix that barks at EVERYTHING. So maybe while she was growing up she just got used to barking at kids, although she doesn't have any problems with adults.
I was wondering if maybe she would bite them, or just bark at them till she got used to them. Or do I need to just keep her away from them. Is there anything I could do to get her better used to them, cause I do plan to have kids someday and the minute she would bite my baby that would be it!!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
