We have been looking for a pup for a while and today we found one here's the but!
After talking with the breeder we asked how closley related the parents were and he responded they were mother and son.I have held off on the purchase till tomorrow .The pups look great we looked at several litter's it all looks good at this breeder's .
Should we be concerned?

The difference between line breeding and inbreeding is somewhat in the eye of the beholder... But I doubt there's anyone who wouldn't agree that a mother/son breeding is squarely in the latter camp.

Was it a deliberate breeding? Accidents like that can happen - but deliberately breeding mother/son would tend to indicate irresponsibility (or at least playing with fire). Without knowing how closely bred the rest of his pedigree is, I'd be inclined to take a pass personally. Or at least, find out if it was deliberate (if it was, I'd run a mile). If it was accidental, and he's not that closely bred otherwise - then maybe (depending on how everything else stacks up - the results of their holter monitor tests, hip x-rays and so forth)

Also, did you see a pedigree? How closely related are the mother and son? If they were also line or inbred, I would also stay away. A one time breeding like this would probably be ok, but if they were closely related, it is playing with fire.

You all confirmed what I suspected Not a very good idea The breeder says he did it intentionaly because he wanted to bring out the traits of the parrents Thanks Kurt still looking
