Linda Paige and Saska !!!!

I lost my darling Ginty in February (aged 13) .... I still cry and miss her everyday.. our house seemed so empty.... so we decided to get an older boxer, as my husband is in his sixtys and Im heading that way. So an older girl was what we decided on. We collected Saska from a well known breeding kennels , Saska will be 8 in August. She had her last lot of puppies last April. The moment I saw her beautiful silver face.... that was it.... I felt love and guilt at the same time. As in my other posts she is just a darling, never as much as a trickle in the house.... doesnt climb on the furniture, doesnt chew, she is such a good guard dog... I can let her walk off the lead, she just plods along side of me.... Like Darby and Joan !!!! hehe.

My biggest worry was letting Saska meet the grandkids...as she had never had any dealing with kids before. So Linda natter natter Paige was her first meeting with a child, Linda is now 10 years old, and had only ever known Ginty....... she looked at Saska, Saska looked at her and growled...my heart missed a beat......Linda started crying....saying she only wanted Ginty , they had made plans for the summer.. and she didnt like Saska ..... I started crying.... and then little Saska bless her went and put her head on Lindas knee and that was it...... They are now best friends........ as the photo shows..... plus meeting with my other grandkids......she is just an amazing silver faced girl... who has overcome every obstacle put her way... being as she had only ever known kennel life...

Saska has just one more grankid to meet....Little Molly Moomin.... who is a little nervous of dogs..

Hope you enjoy my story.... I am still missing my darling Ginty.... but little Saska has bought the sunshine back into my life.

pammyjean, what great pics! of course the grandkids are beautiful, so is saska. such a sweet face, and peaceful eyes. I know she'll never take Ginty's place, but maybe snuggle close to your heart. please, more pics...

Saska is beautiful, so are your grandkids. I think of Tammy and what a great friend she was to our family for 13 years. We got Libby not to replace her but to fill the void. Don't feel guilty.

I know that Ginty is looking down at you and smiling knowing the Saska will look after you for her.
