For the past two weeks, Mojo (9 months) has been limping on and off. I believe it's his front right leg/paw. It's not horrible, and it's mostly when he's just getting up from sleeping or laying down for awhile that it's very noticeable. It seems like the more he's on it, the less it is. He doesn't wine or favor it while playing or going on walks, he just limps on it when he's walking around the house, it seems.

I've checked his paws for stickers, and palpated his legs, but can't seem to "poke" anything that gets him to yelp or cry.

What could be causing this? Is it vet worthy, do you think?

TIA!

I'd say if it has been going on for the past 2 weeks, then yes, I'd take him into the vet to have a checkup. I hope everything is fine with your little guy! Keep us posted.

I agree. If it's been two weeks I would take him in and let the vet examine him. Could be nothing more than a slight muscle strain or pull but best to err on the safe side especially with a puppy. Little to young to think arthritis or the like.

Hope Mojo (great name by the way) feels better. Keep us posted.

my guy jumped off a 5foot high haybail in the neighbors field and limped for about a week,i was concerned as well, luckily i think it was just a sprain or muscle strain,at 9 months,it could be growing pains,or something less concerning, hopefully its not any acl type injury,a trip to the vet may be worth it though.

My girl Angel has the same limp.
I took her to the vet and they said it was a slight sprain and gave us an anti-flammatory for 2 weeks. It has been 4 weeks and although she has gotten better, she still limps every now and then. I think it may take a little more time. Get the checkup.

Completely Boxer Crazy
My Buddy had a limp once (front right I think) and it turned out to be a joint mouse. It was diagnosed with an x-ray. The vet gave him several cartrophen injections and put him on chondroitin/glucosame supplements and the problem resolved itself. He was much older than 9 months though, so I doubt if your pup has the same problem, but I thought I'd pass the info along for anyone else who may read this thread and be in the same boat with an older Boxer. I think my boy was somewhere between 4 and 6 years when his limping problem occurred. Good luck. I hope Mojo is on the mend and is getting into all sorts of mischief ;)
