Totally disappeared???!! I am so jealous!! :( Ok, so how long has it been since you started treatment???

Our vet never prescribed ascription, she didn't even mention it. Hmmm? I wonder if I should go back and inquire about it. Bowzer isn't showing any signs of improvement at all and it's been almost THREE weeks.

Was going to take Bailey to vet a few weeks ago but the limping subsided. So off we went yesterday for the usual shots and I had a chat with the Vet about the limping in his back left leg - the usual scenerio: he's fine until he goes nuts with his friends, then comes home and lies down. When he gets up, he limps quite badly. The Vet felt around etc and, for now, suggested that we continue limiting his play with other dogs - he's OK to go for solo runs and walks. His leg has been fine for the last two weeks so I'm going to continue for a few more weeks. Then the next time he plays hard, we'll see. Vet said it could have been a pulled muscle or even a partial sprain or tear of the CL although they can heal on their own if not too severe and we're careful. Our Vet is not a drug fanatic and prefers we continue limiting play since it seems to be working. He said if it reoccurs, then xrays may be in order, or at least a sedative so he can feel around without Bailey resisting. He said his muscle tone in both legs appeared equal which means he's not favoring his left leg constantly but using both legs somewhat equally.

All that to say, so far so good. I know he misses his little friends but I'd rather his leg stay healthy. After all, summer is coming and he needs to be better to play and swim.

Bailey is just over 2 years old.

We were told to limit play and give Bowzer glucosamine. They showed me in the xray where the cartilage in his knee is wearing down, but he favors it so badly that I think we may be past the point of just bed rest. :( I am at a loss. And now with his limping in the front paw, he is an absolute mess! He's only 3 years old! I am just worried that he's been diagnosed with the wrong thing. I am making an appointment today to see an orthopedist, so I will keep you updated.

Poor Bowzer. He's only a baby. I feel so helpless when these things happen. They look at you with those big brown sad droppy eyes and all you can do is hug them - they bring tears to your eyes. I so hope that you get to the root of the problem and Bowzer can get back to normal. They play so rough - it's so hard to stop them from doing what they love.

The best of luck to you and Bowzer; I'll keep hoping that things turn out for the best.

Sorry to hear things are not going well cynhia and Bowzer. That is a sad story as well. It has to be pretty painful for a boxer to actually show pain.

Lennox was never diagnosed with OCD and the X-rays thankfully showed nothing to worry about. It will forever remain a mystery.

I wish I could pass on our good fortune to Bowzer, sounds like he needs it.

The ascriptin was for the pain it was undetermined if it worked or not. as posted earlier, it was 325 mg and not more than twice a day for a 50 lb dog.

Good luck and take care
