Good :) Hopefully the answer is something not too serious. But the only way to know that - and to start doing something for her if there is something wrong - is to get a doctor to take a look at it.

so it has almost been a week and the limp is still there . I think i will keep of the walk for few more days before I start with the short ones just to be safe . She is done her pain meds today so I went to a natural pet food place and talk to them , they have some stuff for inflammation to help her out they said it should help also picked up some joint health stuff . I think it will be a long few weeks but better then surgery.

I just found your post and was wondering how your baby is doing. Since Ms. Ali has been diagnosed with ACL and I'm told she needs surgery I'm totally confused as what to do. She sees an orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday. Since she started her anti inflamatory meds she seems a bit better. She even got her toy and started to throw it around. Now she is still holding her leg but putting it down for seconds. It sounds like your baby is not as severe as mine thank goodness for both of you. Most likely lots of rest will take care of it. Ms. Ali has had similiar problems after sleeping but they always go away after she moves around. I hope your baby's problems are over for good. Good Luck.

well , things are not to bad she seems not to be limping tonight witch is a first most nights she is. during the day the meds keep the pain away . she is done them today and i picked up some Arnica and cortisone from the heath pet store they said that it will help with the healing and inflammation if she seems to be having a hard time . I will try the walks for 15 mins a day on tuesday and go from there , poor girl is going crazy .

It sounds like Ms. Ali has it much worse but if she is able to put weight on it it may with lots of rest and controlled exercise be o.k. I would talk to the specialist and see if it would heal in time . But if it is really bad she might have to have the surgery . I would look at both options I can't say for sure what I would do if it comes to them saying she will need surgery. My vet said if she can put weight on it it should not need surgery so , so far so good . I hope things turn out good for you and I'm sure you will do what you need to to get her better , it is always hard to have to make that choice.

Glad to hear that baby is improving. Just wondering how old she is. Am I right in saying she's under one year? You know when I think back Ms. Ali has had problems in the past with limping which went away after a day or two - just thought it was roughhousing. Today Ms. Ali is up and about much more although still holding the paw with occasionally putting it down. Is Arnica something you rub on her knee? I've never hear of it but would be willing to try anything to help her. I've got a lot of research to do before I make the decision and I have to write down everything I want to ask the Orthopedic vet. I'm a bit concerned about that lump between her toes as well. She had one removed on her front paw when she was 13 months old which they thought was cancer but thank goodness it was nothing. Hope our luck holds out. Anyway hope your girl continues to improve with rest and tender loving care. I know when they are younger it's so much harder to keep them still. Ms. Ali was 5 in March and is settled so much compared to when she was under two or even three but still loves her walks which is out of the question for quite a while. I'll miss them too cause we walked every day winter and summer and it's just not the same without her. Thanks for your help and I'll keep you updated on her progress. Good luck with your girl.

Arnica is a pill that I give her twice a day and the health pet place said it is good to have on hand for different injuries but not if you think there is internal bleeding . I also give her the cortisone to help with inflammation . Yes she is under a year , she is 9 months she will be 10 months soon @ the end of the month . she seems to be limping more tonight but has been bouncing around a bit today ( will have to get her to stop ) . I hope things go o.k. @ the vet for you . definitely keep me posted . as for the bump between the toes , it seems to have went away or I can't find it right now so that is good . I will keep posting on her progress so that you know how she is doing .

So Hunny is aloud to go for 15 min walks today but I'm a little worried . She likes to jump at the door if she wants in or out and i turned my back and she jumped straight up and landed on her back leg just as I turned around. Now she is limping more than she was it was almost gone (of course she would do this ) now I don't know if I should take her or leave it for a few more days . I will be away over the weekend and I want her to be good in the house as my husband will be coming home from work to let her out and check on her , but I am a little scared if I take her I could be aggravating it .

I guess I will see how she is doing this morning and decide from there .

I have been looking and reading other posts and seems like there are alot of scary health issues it makes me worried . I have a 5 year health guarantee for her but don't want anything to happen . Most boxers are o.k. right ? I would be devastated if she ever had anything more serious happen to her . anyway I'm sure I am worrying for nothing . We will see what today brings.

At Hunny's age they are so bouncy and it's so hard to keep them still even for a minute. Glad that the lump between her toes is gone. I think I may have mentioned it cost me $500 to find out that Ms. Ali's lump was negative back when she was 13 months old.. Well tomorrow morning I will know more. But I don't see how she will avoid surgery. She's putting her paw down for a minute or so but then it's back up. Now she is back to herself as far as energy and even wanting to play but that leg is still a huge concern. Oh I spoke to a girl who had a very similiar surgery on her 4 yr. old husky. It went very well. She had the cartliage removed and a ligament fixed. It cost $2000. Wow!! But her dog is doing great and it's the same vet I'm seeing. She had surgery 3 weeks ago. From what she said the dog didn't have much problem after the surgery - holding her paw up like Ms.Ali is doing now.

One of my problems is my mini poodle barks at everything and then Ms. Ali is up and barking too. I could strangle him sometimes. He's such a barker and most of the time it's at nothing. But of course Ms. Ali has to double check it all out and then she not getting the rest she needs like right now he's barking and she's up barking to get out on the deck. Better go and see what's on the go. Good luck with Hunny.

P.S. Thanks for the info on Arnica. I must ask the vet if Ms. Ali could take it.
